We had a wonderful turnout with over 35 attendees at The Gathering Place this Wednesday morning, Nov 5th! Fresh coffee and warm biscuits and gravy started our day together, followed by an incredible lineup of community partners who shared valuable local resources:
Michelle from Spokane Neighbors Action Partners (SNAP) highlighted Weatherization and senior support programs.
Corrine from the North Spokane County Library District (SCLD) shared upcoming events and opportunities for senior connections.
Phil with Aging and Long Term Care of Eastern Washington (ALTCEW) discussed ongoing services and fall prevention workshops.
JJ Klaus, Medicare specialist, answered participant questions about Medicare plans and enrollment.
To wrap up the morning, JoAnn led a light stretching activity using scarves for arm and muscle movement, and Mindy guided a creative small group in cross-stitch projects. It was a wonderful morning of learning, movement, and community spirit!
We will have Christmas music around the piano with Ron, Lisa on the violin, and Dave on the guitar… all are welcome to join us. We will have a white elephant gift exchange in which ALL may participate.
We’ll also enjoy a Christmas meal of ham, roasted potatoes, steamed vegetables, rolls, and dessert. Expect laughter, music, and joy as we celebrate the season together!
Let us know you plan to participate with us, and know that new participants are always welcome to join us… come as you are!
If you are interested, have questions, or would like to join us, reach out to Ron at casework@newhoperesource.org of call the office at (509) 467-2900.
